Hey, friends. It’s been a while.
I wish I had a perfectly polished reason for my absence, but the truth is—life hit hard. In the past month, I’ve said goodbye to two incredibly important people in my life—my uncle and then my grandfather. Grief is heavy, and it doesn’t follow a schedule. It’s messy, slow, and silent in between the chaos of everyday life.
And life didn’t stop. Kids’ sports tournaments kept us busy, and somehow I found myself jumping into adult tournaments, too. Somewhere in the blur, I picked up a crochet hook for the first time and instantly fell in love. I’m now stitching away at handmade Christmas gifts (yes, already!).
The seedlings for this year’s garden are thriving—tiny promises of fresh beginnings. We’ve got eggs in the incubator and did a full spring clean of the chicken coop. New life, fresh starts, and clean feathers—it all feels symbolic in a way.
Our junk removal side hustle has picked up with the weather warming up, and it’s been such a blessing to stay busy and help others tidy up their spaces. I’m just crossing my fingers for a bit more sunshine so we can get the cars and motorcycles out of storage.
There’s something about the first real spring ride that just fills the soul.
This post isn’t fancy, but it’s honest. Sometimes the most beautiful growth happens in seasons of quiet resilience. Thanks for sticking with me. I’m excited to be back, and I have so much more to share—recipes, garden updates, holistic remedies, and the wonderfully wild journey of simple living.
Until next time,
Dawn
